May 7, 2007.. Well its been awhile since I last updated my blog.  Allot has been going on since my last entry.  Winter has passed and Spring is in full force.  The Twin Plex and much of the state was hit by a windstorm. Little if any rain and no thunder was associated with the windstorm.  The windstorm was part of an intense low pressure system in the Dakota being blocked by surface High Pressure over Quebec.  Wind gusts were as high as 58 mph at the TwinCity airport.  North St. Paul recorded 45 mph.  Trees were toppled and power outages were noted including at Kowalskis in White Bear Lake.

I saw my first Mallard Ducklings yesterday (Sunday, May 6) making there way to a local pond.  My daughter Emily called and reported seeing goslings as well.  Dandelions are in full bloom in many yards with few just beginning to seed.  Crab apple trees are also in full bloom making the drive and walks through your neighborhood a delightful sight, plus it smells nice too.

I've seen a few Lilacs blooming but the vast majority have yet to bloom.

I've yet to mow my yard.  Last year I mowed for the first time on May 26.  My neighbor has already mowed their yard twice.  I think they fertilize which may tell you something about my yard. Its getting close, maybe one more week.

I'll post my summer outlook very soon.
